Hello Otters!

Its time for our first away meet and 2nd meet of the season. Thank you everyone for making sure to volunteer last week.  It was great to have more volunteers than positions.  If you are interested in any of the certified positions, please reach out to Mary Brooks.  Even if its for next season instead of this one.

Swim Meet Timeline Wednesday 6/10/2026:

4:40 Check in starts
5:00-5:20 pm TFC Warm Ups
5:20-5:40 pm OC Warm Ups
5:40 pm Timers Meeting in the Pavilion
5:40 pm S&T/Runners Meeting Pool House
5:55 pm National Anthem
6:00 pm Start Time

Volunteer positions are now open in Swimtopia.

Directions: TFC is 6 1/2 miles from the intersection of I-295 and Mountain Run or 2 miles from the intersection of Ashland Road and Mountain Road. Mountain Run Subdivision is just before you reach the South Anna River. If you cross the South Anna River, you have gone too far!

Pool Specifics:

• The pool is measured in yards and has six lanes.
• The start end of the pool is 5 feet deep and the turn end of our pool is 3 feet deep.
• This means that swimmers can dive in the start end but second and fourth legs of mite relays will need to start in the water.
• Event results will be posted outside of the snack on the side closest to the parking lot.
• Restrooms are located at the rear of the pool house.

Parking: The primary parking lot at the pool has been reserved for our team. There is additional parking available along ONE side (right side if entering from Mountain Road) of the street nearest the pool house. Please ensure that you pull sufficiently off the road that emergency vehicles still have adequate space to pass. Overflow parking is available on the hill above the main parking lot and in the gravel parking lot just past the tennis courts. Coaches and rep have reserved parking to the left of the pool house, look for the coach sign.  Keep these open for our coaches and whichever person is hauling the starter so that its close to the entrance if needed.

Seating: Seating for the away team is located at right side of the pool (side with slide) and on the top deck (marked as Adult Only Deck). TFC seating will be the far side of main pool deck and on the baby pool deck. 

Restricted Areas: The Baby Pool, Adult Pool, Pool House, Tennis Courts and Golf Course are off limits during the swim meet.

Clerk of the Course: The Clerk of the Course is located on the far side of the lowest deck.

Weather: If there is any thunder or lightning, EVERYONE will be directed to their vehicles and will not be allowed to return to the deck area until 30 minutes after the last thunder/lightning spotted.

Concessions: The Federal Club pool restaurant will be open for dinner serving chicken tacos, burgers, tenders, BBQ, and more. TFC also offers a variety of ice creams treats and drinks. The snack bar accepts cash and credit cards. Alcohol is offered at the pool but per GRAL rules it may not be consumed on the pool deck during the meet. Please note that no glass containers of any kind may be brought onto the pool deck. Complimentary meal passes will be provided for our coaches.

Some things to consider bringing to the meet...
- at least two towels per swimmer
-extra water to drink, it's going to be very hot.
- a sweatshirt for your swimmer, after the sun goes down and they are wet, they may be chilled
- extra goggles in case of breakage
- if your swimmer wears polarized goggles, like sunglasses, you may want a regular pair as well. when it gets dark out toward the end of the meet, the sunglasses ones make it difficult to see
- chairs or a blanket to sit on
- cash for concessions (low bills are preferred)
- swim team caps for all girls, and boys with long hair (you can purchase a cap from either Jen Wyatt or Amy Owen at the meet as well, $5 cash please) - surprises for your bigs or littles (feel free to have your child ask their big or little what their favorite snacks, drink or candy is or if they have any allergies or intolerances, or braces)
