The Otter’s Head Coach is Courtney Hurtubise. Courtney swam summer league from the age of 5-18 in Williamsburg, Va and swam throughout her high school career. She walked on to the Lady Vol Swim Team at the University of Tennessee as a junior, where she swam for three years and served as team captain as a 5th year senior. Courtney has coached both summer league and high school swimming over the past 23 years. She has coached several championship teams at both levels and received the GRAL “Coach’s Award” in 2010 and 2022. Her passion is helping young kids become acclimated in the water and to learn how to safely and efficiently swim, while sharing her love of swimming. Taylor started swimming at 9 years old and fell in love with the sport. Through out the years Taylor has participated in Burkwood Swim Clinics and swam for a year and a half for Hanover Hurricanes to improve her swimming. The summer of 2023 Taylor started coaching and swimming for the Old Church Otters. Over the years of swimming she has gained a lot of knowledge of the sport from amazing summer league and high school coaches. Taylor plans on attending Shenandoah university with a major in exercise science on the pre-physical therapy track.
Connor started summer swim with our Old Church Otters at around 8 years old and has been swimming year-round competitively for 7 of those years with the Hanover Hurricanes. Connor's favorite events are the 50 freestyle and the 200 butterfly. He aims to apply his knowledge to our 12 unders this season.
