Hello Otters Families!

Thank you to those that came out to the parent meeting last night.  If you were not able to make it, I have attached the presentation to this message.  Please review.

Important Things To Note:

• Swim Team Fees Are Due
  • If you haven't paid your fees, please do so by this evening, otherwise, you will be charged for late registration.  If practice is canceled, Monday will be the deadline to pay before late registration fees apply.  
• SwimTopia Swim Meet Sign Out
  • All meets are now open in SwimTopia.  If you know your swimmer will be missing a meet, please go in and sign them out now.  All meets except the first one will be closed on Tuesday, May 26.  On Wednesday nights after meets, the next meet will be open in SwimTopia for families to sign their swimmer out and request events.  These features will close for the meet on the Sunday before the meet to allow our coaching staff enough time to carefully formulate meet entries.  
• Swimsuits & Swim Caps
  • Please don't forget to visit Swim Outlet and order your swimmer his/her swimsuit for the season.  Please see our OC SwimTopia site to access our team store and place your order.  While Swim Outlet does a good job getting orders out, you don't want to wait until the last minute.
  • Remember that all swimmers should have swim caps (unless they have super short hair).  We have OC Otters caps available for $5 at every practice and meet.  If wearing something other than an Otters cap, it must be solid in color (we'd prefer black, blue, or white) and cannot have any other team name or logo on it. 
  • ANY SWIMMER THAT HAS QUALIFIED FOR CHAMPS IN THE PAST:  We do have some silicone champs caps with our old logo on them available for $5 as well.  
• Certified Officials Needed
  • Our team functions on the amazing volunteer spirit of our families.  While some volunteer positions require no training, there are others that require some training, and we are in need of some certified officials.
  • If you are interested in stepping up and certifying for one of the following roles, please let us know:  CLERK OF COURSE, STARTER, STROKES & TURNS.
• Other Leadership Opportunities
  • If you are interested in being on our Swim Team Committee (or leadership team), come see Amy Owen!  We'd love to share with you what positions may be opening up and connect you with the right person to begin learning about the role. 
• Changes to Swim Meets
  • There are no longer IM meets and Freestyle meets.  We will now just have Even and Odd meets.  Please see the new line up of events (attached).  The biggest change is to relays and 8 and unders will now have events all the way up to event 35.
